Where can I download the FireWire drivers for Mac OS 8.6 and 9.04?
If the external Firewire enclosure is used on a Mac OS 8.6 or 9.04, the FireWire extension has to be at least v2.6. To obtain this extension, there are several ways.
- If a software such as Anubis from Charismac is included by your vendor, the required extension can be found on that CD
- Upgrade your OS to at least 9.1 (we recommend OS X)
- Download it from the Apple Homepage and copy the extension needed
- If you have a friend with an OS 9.1 or 9.2, you could copy the extension and use it on your own system
